JTC Education

Medical note policy

If a student is unable to attend their scheduled private lesson due to sudden illness, the lesson fee may be waived upon submission of a valid medical note. To qualify, the medical note must meet all of the following requirements:

Required documentation

The note must be issued by a licensed medical doctor or a recognised clinic/hospital. It must clearly state the student's full name, and confirmation that the student was unwell at the time of the scheduled lesson.

The medical note must be submitted to JTC Education within 48 hours of the missed lesson.

What does not qualify as a medical note

For clarity, the following do not meet the requirements and will not result in a waived fee:

Recurring medical conditions

For students with a recurring or chronic medical condition that may occasionally prevent attendance, we kindly ask for a consultant or specialist letter once per term confirming the condition. Based on this, JTC Education may agree to waive a reasonable number of lessons per term when absences arise directly from the condition. Additional absences will remain chargeable. Routine medical appointments, follow-up visits, or non-urgent check-ups related to the condition do not qualify for a fee waiver. If absences become frequent, we may discuss adjusting the student's schedule to a more flexible arrangement.
